Sound issues with Argon One V5 M.2

Hi,
I recently set up an Argon One V5 M.2 NVME case with a RPi5 4Gb. Had some difficulty getting sound to work. Initially it did not see the sound device. I had to comment out the line “otg_mode=1” and reboot to get it working. However the volume (Analog Stereo Output) is really quiet. Is there a set of instructions to follow in order to configure the DAC properly?

just need to make sure that this line is in the config.txt

dtoverlay=dwc2,dr_mode=host

when you install the argon V5 install script, it should automatically add that line. This line is just to enable the OTG mode for the USB C of Raspberry Pi, otg_mode=1 is not needed.

Did all that. My problem is the output volume is very low and sound quality is not that great. I have set the device profile as ‘Analog Stereo Output’ - is this the correct way to do it?

I have a sound issue with an Argon One v5 case and I’ve worked out its to do with the stereo + mic socket. If I insert a stereo headphone jack all the way I only get the left channel at half volume. If I pull the jack out slightly I get both channels at full volume. At first I thought this was a circuit board soldering issue but now I think it’s a design issue. I’m going to try a 3.5mm stereo/mic Y splitter to see it it resolves the issue. But ideally you would have separate sockets for audio out and mic in.

I have the same situation. Apparently we both need a plug with 4 contacts - Left, Right (for Stereo), Microphone and Ground. I the early days of mobile phones they gave you one of these plugs attached to ear buds, with a microphone mid-way on the wire. Stereo headphones only have three contacts - Left, Right and Ground.

I’m using VLC for playback, does anyone have other favorites?

On VLC I have Audio set for “Sudio Adapter (Unitek Y-247A) Analog Stereo”. The other option is “Built-in Audio Digital Stereo (HDMI)”. Does this mean I could just plug this into a TV set via HDMI and get stereo via the TV speakers?

I’d like to know how your situation was resolved.
