Picking a personal firewall app to use on my ONEUp laptop

I’ll be using my ONEUP laptop in the same way as my Ubuntu 18” laptop, since this one is so much lighter. I’d like to use a firewall app since I use it at businesses and on planes. Can I please have suggestions for a personnel use? I understand there are Raspberry Pi firewalls on network devices, but I’m not certain if the application can be scaled down to what I need.

Thanks!

Try using Uncomplicated Firewall (UFW) which you can install via additional software or the CLI using the sudo apt install UFW. There is also a GUI version called GFW which is easier to use. Try Googling Uncomplicated Firewall and/or GFW.

Thanks, Jon - yes, that’s what I went ahead and did. Installing and simple configuration made it a winner.

Agreed it a good FW and simple to use i.e. adding rules etc., for things like KDE Connect which is a great app for communication between devices on the same network.
