Sorry for the surely stupid question: how can I send the internal disk to standby? I always hear it spinning, it never goes into spinoff despite on OMV6 the value is off.

Typically you don’t want a hard drive to spin down as that causes wear on the drive motor-it is easier to keep the disk spinning than it is to slow down, stop, start and get the spindle back up to speed.
Alternatively, if you want it to spin down anyways, there is a post On the OMV forums that provides a solution.
