I have bought a new NASware 3.0 Western Digital Red hard drive (WD40EFAX SATA 6Gb/s) and the Argon EON case. I have followed the steps to set it all up and install OMV, which all seem to have gone well. However, when I add the hard drive, it is not visible in OMV as a selectable drive to format, or anything.
I have done nothing with the drive since buying it, expecting that it should be visible immediately - is that right? I have tried taking it out and putting it back in, but don’t know what more I can do to troubleshoot what the issue might be?
When I power on, there is some intermittent buzzing from (I think) the HDD, so I think it is getting power etc - certainly everything seems to be connected ok.
EDIT: I have recorded the boot up sounds the HDD makes in case that gives a clue as to the problem - could it be underpowering the HDD in some way? Imgur: The magic of the Internet
