I used a spudger to pop the plastic bezel off that side and then resnapped it on (I’d been looking for screws I could loosen but nothing was exposed, Gemini AI lied to me), and lo and behold, that sort of hot/pinched effect is gone. I’d assumed it was some sort of aluminum case torque but I think maybe the bezel was pushed on too tight during assembly.
Anyways, that had been my only gripe really and now it’s resolved, wanted to share in case it helps anyone else.
I imagine there’s got to be a ribbon cable but the physical slider to block it is a nice touch and I didn’t see any need to unplug because I could physically obstruct it. You’re aware it has a privacy slider built in right?
Yes, I’m for sure aware of the privacy-shutter, but I don’t need the camera at all and it consumes some power. I didn’t open the shell, maybe someone here took some pictures of the inside or motherboard? It is attached to the usb-hub, so there has to be a connector I suppose.
