Alternative/Replacement Fan for EON

Hey, do you have the files available for the 3d print you used here?

@scdesigns see the link in @javier-alba message.

@javier-alba what material did you use? And what ‘Infills’ percent? Sorry, I’m new to 3D printing. I found several 3D printing online services, but they ask too many questions

@DenisBY PLA, and 30% of infill

Take a look at this for those that don’t have a 3d printer or want to use noctua fans

I’m running HA OS on my EON and couldn’t get the automations to work so I opted for this solution for a quieter fan:

60mm Noctua 5V Fan mounted on 25mm brass stand-offs and blowing upwards.

Because I can’t get anything to work to Throttle the Fan, I used a USB power supply that is tunable. I removed the larger knob to allow it to fit easier.

I was running at 38DegC with minimal Fan speed but I have turned it off now and it’s running at 40DegC.

I ran it for a while with full fan and it only dropped the temperature to 35DegC so I think an outside fan blowing onto the area around the Ports would be better to cool the CPU.

Edit - I tried the external fan idea and the CPU drops to 27DegC !

I came up with this solution. Base contains a quiet 120mm fan incorporating a dust filter. Only mod to the eon was to remove the original fan as I’ve reversed the airflow. Currently the fan runs all the time as it’s so quiet but I’m eventually going to drive it from the existing fan circuit.
