I need to upgrade the ram of Raspberry as I am hosting immich and Jellyfin on my eon and 4GB are not enaught.
I’m considering not to buy a Pi4-8Gb but to switch to 5 and hack a little bit the eon to support it unless new eon is lunched. My idea is to put the rp5 in another case and hook it to the eon via a patch for the gpio (like this RPI GPIO40 150: Cavo Raspberry Pi - GPIO, 40 pin, 15cm, grigio comprare da reichelt) and via an usb3 to usb3 standard cable like this Rankie Cavo USB 3.0 A Maschio a A Maschio, 1,8 m, Nero : Amazon.it: Informatica. This way I don’t need an external power adapter and I can preserve most of the eon functionality.
What do you think? Whould this work?
