I am very happy with my One Up. The only issue I have is that the power LED (next to the power USBC) never lights up. Do anyone else have this issue?
Welcome.
My LED is
- off when no charger is detected
- Red when the battery is charging
- Green when the battery is 100%
Is your battery charging at all?
Yes. The battery is charging fine.
I think it only comes on when charging and fully charged.
I have noted 4 conditions for this LED
- LED off when nothing is connected to the USB-C port and the system is operating from the battery.
- LED flashing on an approximate 3 second cycle when a power supply that is either inadequate to supply the required 5 volts at 5 amps i.e. a Xiaomi 65W PD fast charger; or can supply the required 5 volts at 5 amps but has inadequate power i.e. the Argon 40 27W Raspberry PI 5 power supply; in this situation the onscreen display shows an intermittent message of “Charging” and “Battery Mode” in the top right of the screen and the onscreen battery icon shows a charging lightning bolt intermittently.
- Permanently on RED and powering the 1UP and charging the battery.
- Permanently on GREEN and powering the 1UP and the battery is fully charged.
Thanks for the replies. So the device is charging fine with about 30 W (Using Anker charger 100W), there is just no light in the power LED.
My little power LED also doesn’t light under any circumstances, but it’s not something I’m bothered about as all the important stuff works well.
I’ve assumed it’s a fault, but it’s not worth the bother of doing something about it. However, if there is a simple solution then I’m all ears.
Update: I had reported that my power LED wasn’t working. Now I don’t know what happened but it’s now working. I will try and find out what made the difference, but I left it on charge and next time I looked it was green and has been fine ever since.
